“ This place was unexpectedly very good. The restaurant itself was very clean. The service was great. Staff was attentive but not overbearing. The food was phenomenal. I would definitely come here again. ”
“ We tried this fabulous spot, yesterday, for lunch. Small, but nice space. Great service & food. Very generous portions, too. Will definitely be back! ”
“ Sushi was fresh and flavorful. The fish melted in my mouth, and the rice was just right. The rolls could use a little more creativity. A strong 4-star experience. ”
“ We came during a day there was a power outage in seaside, luckily they weren't affected! Prices are normal for the area, especially considering it is a unique spot for Japanese food. My partner and I share a steak and chicken dinner combo plate plus a combo with nigiri and California roll. We were pleased to know we were able to get two delicious miso soups. (My favorite.) It was my first time having nigiri which was very interesting. Not for me but I'm sure it would be great for others. The combo plate was so good, I loved their fried rice with spicy Mayo. (Ask for the spicy Mayo!) the steak was soft and tender. While the chicken had an amazing sauce. Overall great experience. Service was nice and well educated on the menu. The dinner was quiet and serene, felt tucked away. ”
“ This review is for a delivery order. Huge portions! The rolls were large, and presented beautifully, with purple orchids! Also received twice the yakisoba that I expected. I added chicken, and that was generous as well. My only concern would be that the seafood noodle soup was served with the noddles in the broth. By the time I had time to eat it, much of the soup had been soaked up already. Also, there wasn't much seafood to command $26. Normally, restaurants would separate the liquid from the starch. Otherwise, happy customers. Would order again ”
“ My favorite dish is the Steak Hibachi Dinner--I highly recommend it! Overall, great food and good atmosphere. ”
“ I came here on Christmas and the service was very slow. Won't ding it too much on that since not many places were open for Christmas and this place was reasonably crowded. In terms of food it's good, pricey but everything around the area was pricey as well. I tried these items. Curry Udon - I mean it's basic. It was tasty but not $20 tasty. (3.5/5) Sashimi Combo - Alright this was delicious. Huge chunks of fresh and all tasted fresh. For $27 I can't complain this was bomb!!! (5/5) This spot ain't bad. We enjoyed it for what it had especially since it was the few places that were open on Christmas. Pretty good food, okay prices. ”
“ Steak Hibachi! Hibachi is a must have here. Good lunch prices. Open late for dinner. Open kitchen Fresh Sashimi ”
“ Drove to Seaside from the LA area to visit the aquarium, Carmel, etc. and ended up getting into town on the later side. Wakatobi is unassuming--small, but clean. The parking lot was empty and there were a couple of other small parties when we arrived and when we left but it certainly wasn't crowded. Service was very quick and the server took the time to ask if all of the ingredients were okay and did not cause any allergic reactions (specifically shrimp). Food came out very fast. We ordered the oshinko maki, tempura udon, and hibachi chicken dinner with extra vegetables instead of rice or noodles. The chicken dinner was a fairly standard stir fry and not remarkable but decent. Wifey enjoyed the tempura udon which was served nice and hot and the tempura was served on the side so it was crispy. Kid had the oshinko maki--it was fine. Best Japanese I've ever had? No. But it was a welcome respite after a decent day of driving. ”
